The FM200 Cabinet Fire Suppression System is a pre-engineered, all-in-one fire detection and extinguishing unit specially designed for enclosed cabinets and rack environments. It combines fire detection, clean agent storage, discharge nozzle, pressure indicator, and signal feedback into one compact module, making it ideal for server racks, electrical control panels, telecom cabinets, UPS cabinets, and other confined equipment spaces.
Using HFC-227ea (FM200) clean agent, the system rapidly suppresses Class B, C, and electrical fires without leaving residue or damaging sensitive electronic equipment.
Designed specifically for limited-space environments, this system eliminates the complexity of traditional centralized fire suppression systems.
| Type of Device | Server-rack fire suppression unit |
|---|---|
| Device Model | JGQ2/1.6-XJ |
| Size | 745 mm × 425 mm × 42 mm |
| Storage of Container | 2 L |
| Max Filling Rate | 1.15 kg/L |
| Storage Pressure (20℃) | 1.6 MPa |
| Max Working Pressure | 2.5 MPa |
| Glass Ball Starting Temperature | 68 ℃ |
| Action Temperature of Fire Detecting Tube | 160 ℃ ±10 ℃ |
| Max Length of Fire Tube | 25 m |
| Working Temperature | 0 ℃ ~ 50 ℃ |
| Relative Humidity | ≤ 97% |
When the cabinet temperature reaches the preset level (68℃ or customized), the glass bulb bursts automatically, releasing FM200 agent instantly.
The fire detection tube ruptures at the hottest point when exposed to flame, triggering the discharge of the clean agent directly at the fire source.
| Model Specifications | Dimensions A × B × H (mm) | Storage Container Capacity (L) | Heptafluoropropane Filling Density (kg/m³) | Storage Pressure (20℃; MPa) | Maximum Working Pressure (50℃; MPa) | Applicable Environment |

| JGQ2/1.6-XJ | 745 × 425 × 42 | 2 | ≤ 1150 | 1.6 | 2.5 | 0℃ – 50℃ |
| Comparative Item | Traditional Gas Fire Extinguishing System | Server-Rack Fire Suppression Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Protected Object | Large enclosed spaces such as whole rooms and cable interlayers | Various small-volume cabinet bodies such as 19U cabinets and variable distribution cabinets |
| Construction and Installation | Complicated construction with long construction periods (pipelines, storage rooms, etc.); unable to protect small spaces such as cabinets; must be completed during new construction, making later retrofits difficult and prone to damage | Simple installation with short construction periods; protects small cabinet spaces; installation causes no damage during normal equipment operation |
| Maintenance and Operation | Requires a dedicated power supply; electronic components are easily affected by the external environment; the complex system requires professional technical personnel for maintenance | No power supply required; no electrical components; easy to maintain |
| Safety Performance | The room must be completely flooded; large extinguishing agent dosage; personnel must evacuate during discharge; large dosage easily pollutes the environment | Only small spaces are flooded; small extinguishing agent dosage; minimal impact of released gas on personnel, so evacuation is not required; small dosage means minimal environmental pollution |
| Fire Fighting Performance | Second-level early warning delays response by 30 s; slow extinguishing speed; agent is sprayed over the entire protected area with limited targeting | Fire detection tube and temperature-sensing glass bulb are arranged directly inside the cabinet; agent is released immediately upon detecting the fire source for fast extinguishing; point-to-point fire fighting |
| Cost | Large extinguishing agent dosage, high cost | Small extinguishing agent dosage, low cost |
Install the cabinet heptafluoropropane gas fire extinguishing device in a drawer-style arrangement into the cabinet and secure it firmly, as shown in the figure above. The thermal release assembly and fire detector tubes are also arranged as illustrated. The thermal release assembly is secured to the cabinet using the corresponding accessories. The fire detector tubes should be arranged in an S-shaped pattern, preferably in areas prone to fire, and secured with cable ties.
Personnel performing installation, commissioning, and operation should be familiar with the basic structure, operating principle, performance, and operating procedures of the device, as well as the structure and operating conditions of each valve component.
The device should be installed away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure that the device is not subject to vibration and impact. The device should be secured within a protected area using brackets.
4.1 Installing the Heptafluoropropane Gas Fire Extinguishing System in the Cabinet
4.1.1 Selecting a Location: Select a suitable U-shaped space in the upper area of the cabinet. The location should be convenient for daily inspection and installation, avoiding areas with heavy wiring.
4.1.2 Securing the System: Use the cabinet's built-in rails or tray to secure the system. Secure the system with screws through the two screw holes on the front panel. Once secured, the system is installed.
4.2 Components and Installation
4.2.1 The system interfaces include: copper pipe interface, switch, pressure gauge, signal feedback device, fire detector tube, temperature-sensing glass bulb, and fire extinguisher release nozzle. The fire extinguisher release nozzle is located on the front panel, and the other interfaces are located on the back panel.
4.2.2 Installation of the Temperature-Sensing Glass Bulb and Fire Detector Tube:
4.2.2.1 Temperature-Sensing Glass Bulb: The temperature-sensing glass bulb is already fixed to the device and does not require installation.
4.2.2.2 Fire Detector Start Pipe: Remove the plug from the air throttle, insert the fire detector tube into the pin-shaped connector, and tighten the copper cap until secure. Observe the cabinet space and select an appropriate piping layout. The piping layout principles should first ensure maximum cabinet coverage, then route the fire detector tube through the most fire-prone areas, and finally consider aesthetics. The fire detector tube ends in a standard plug. First, insert the internally threaded plug into the fire detector tube. Then, firmly insert the other plug into the fire detector tube. Connect the two pieces and tighten.
4.3 Signal Feedback Device Interface
Connect the signal feedback device to the system according to the marking requirements.
A dedicated maintenance manager should be assigned to manage the maintenance of cabinet heptafluoropropane gas fire extinguishing devices. Maintenance records should be kept. The manager should be familiar with the device's operating principles and performance.
a. Inspections should be conducted twice weekly and meet the following requirements:
b. Device components should also be inspected quarterly and meet the following requirements:
c. Conduct a comprehensive annual inspection and maintenance of the cabinet gas fire extinguishing system. In addition to meeting the requirements in a and b, the following requirements must also be met:
